Happy Saturday, Babes! With the recent sub zero temps I thought it only appropriate to round up this seasons swimmy favorites. If you’ve been following me for a while, you migh have noticed I’m a lover of cut-outs, texture and neutrals. Two trends I couldn’t get enough last season were palm prints (see yesterdays insta post) and crochet pieces. I have an feeling this season obsession will be ruffles… Let’s take a looksie shall we?
Express has a swim line and it’s FIRE. Cutouts, contrasting textures, metallics and some pretty amazing prints, OH MY….Where do I begin? There’s a style and print flattering for any shape or size. The price point for each peice is between $34 – $50 which might make you shy away from choosing Express for your next swimsuit but as a frequent shopper, I can promise you there will be a nearby sale that will have you walking out of the store with several pieces and a confidence boost because there is no doubt you won’t be the best dressed at that next bar-b-que, babe.!
1.) Matte Black // 2.) Ribbed Bronze // 3.) Cut-Out One Piece //4.) Velvet
I know there are frans who will bark at this one but SheIn literally has the cutest kini’s out there for next to nothing…and if you’re like me who likes to change it up multiple times throughout the weekend (or day- haha!), their price point will allow you to do that! You may not get more than one season out of them but hey, for the price, it’s worth it in my opinion. SheIn brings out my playful side as you’ll see from selections below. So go HAVE FUN with it!
1.) Leopard Print // 2.) Champagne // 3.) Two-tone zip //4.) Ruffles
If you saw my post from yesterday, my most popular swimmy from last season was from AMAZON and it was under $20. Things I love about purchasing from Amazon: 1.) PRIME FREE 2-Day Shipping; got a last minute invite to a poolside bar-b-que? no problem! 1-Click to buy while you’re waiting in the school parking lot AND DONE. 2.) VARIETY; looking for high-end or budget friendly? no problem- adjust the search filter to your specifications and voila 3.) YOU-NIQUE; In my opinion, Amazon allows you to find that diamond in the rough… You’ll find that swimmy that noone else is wearing and sometimes, you really really need that in your life, right? 4.) DUPES. Everyone knows you go Amazon for a good dupe find. Finally, I also included a cover up in this section because Amazon has always came in clutch for me in this department.
1.) Copper // 2.) Color Block // 3.) Coverup //4.) Mara Hoffman
Now it’s time to book your next tropical vacation! Where are you off to next? Tell me in the comments section below!
So this is 30… fine lines, hyperpigmentation, dullness. Do I need to go on? I think not.
With every passing birthday, I find myself frequenting Target’s isle A21 more and more to find the latest and greatest in beauty and anti-aging. Recently, I booked myself a day at a local beauty spa and had my first chemical peel done. I fell, hook line and sinker for this treatment! But let’s be honest, who can afford to sacrifice their time and wallet to have this treatment professionally done every 3-6 months? Not Me! So of course, I took to Google and started searching for a more economical way to do this while still being safe. Here is where the all amazing Amazon comes in! I found a plethora of “at-home” options so that I could continue to supplement this new beauty obessession of mine and use for those in-between spa treatments moments.
As I mentioned, there was a long list of products available to choose from so it took some time to read through the reviews, compare feedback and pricing before I made my final selection. The research is worth it, trust me! This is some powerful magic in a bottle and can do some damage if you don’t use it correctly! Ive noticed such a difference in my skin for the last 6 months that I’ve been using this product between spa treatments; my pores have been minimized, my skin tone is more even, my complexion is clearer and my fine lines have been reduced. I’ve even received several compliments from friends, saying they can see a difference and strangers saying “you don’t look 30!” No complaints here!
I’m linking my best kept secret here. Let me know if you’ve tried this or another product and include your best review!
We’re women, which means mom or not, we’re busy! Whether it’s a day in the office, shuffling the kids around town, or trying to complete a never-ending list of errands. No matter what the day holds, style doesn’t have to be sacrificed. Choosing an outfit that transitions from day to night gets you from the office to happy hour with the girls in no time flat.
On days that require me running from work to play and everything in between, I pick easy, soft, neutral pieces to take me long into the night. Today for example, I chose a few of my favs that wear well no matter what time of the day, keeping me chic around the clock.
1// joggers 2// soft v-neck tee 3// sandal 4// watch 5// clutch 6// bracelet extras: pearl earrings | layered necklace
When it comes to accomplishing a successful day to night outfit, you should keep two simple things in mind:
When laying out your outfit, choose pieces that you know you’ll be comfortable in until nighttime. Stick with colors that work easily during the day and evening like neutrals, black, grey, or white. These colors are perfect for the office and will match easily with a jacket/blazer later on.
Some pieces might be too casual for the office, but layering appropriately can have you ready for a night out in minutes. Tops can be layered underneath a blazer during the day and shown off at night. Keep accessories minimal for the office and errands but remember to pack the extras to add on later. This also goes for your makeup!
So, I hope I was able to give you some style inspo to get you on your way faster.

So on the weekends I don’t have my son, I mainly try to catch up on all the errands I couldn’t squeeze in that week or do something for myself. Whether it be retail therapy, a manicure, or a night out, I make sure to capitalize on the “free” time.
I think it’s really important that all parents find ways to do something for themselves at least once a week or you’ll go cray cray. A day, night, hour, however long you can get(take it!), will be good for mind, body and soul.
A few suggestions to help bring peace and stability can be:
- Check + balance finances (hey, it brings me peace of mind and a sense of accomplishment!)
- A long bath and a book (buy some assorted bath bombs to add excitement)
- Catch up on a TV/Netflix series (I just started watching ’13 Reasons Why’ and Oh Em Gee people, it’s so good! Sign up for Netflix’s 30-day free trial)
- Brunch or dinner with a friend(s)- just get out!
- Retail therapy (a new pair of shoes works wonders)
- Workout or join a fitness class (something that you can look forward to on a weekly basis) or go on a nature hike
- Visit a new city for a day
- Start a hobby- blogging, photography, diy projects, etc.
There are so many things you can do to make you feel like you are still YOU, when you are giving 100% yourself to your child/children. So my point is that you should really make it a habit to find and do that one thing that will keep you healthy and strong for the little one(s). Trust me, I know it’s not always easy because life can get in the way, but start small and see where it leads! You got this!
Share what works for you below. I’d love to hear from you!
I will conclude this post with the deets of my outfit from last night. It’s a feel good one! Also a good example of a high-low look that will get you a TON of compliments 🙌🏻

I know its been a little quiet here lately…but I have some exiting news to share with you all!
A custody battle is never enjoyable or easy for anyone involved. Many are fortunate to not have to enter one at all! Recently, I avoided a major road block in my path to happiness and freedom.
Chael and I were granted relocation!
What an amazing feat and breath of fresh air it was to overcome this obstacle. For the last year, all I have been focusing on is getting Chael and I to a place where we can put down roots. I am so excited to have a fresh start with my little man that I’m already planning out our next adventures!
Now, for those of you who might be wondering about Chael’s Dad and his involvement moving forward– nothing has changed with regards to custody. We both do our best to give each other equal time however, we both realize that…dare I say it, pre-school is just around the corner and some things may require a little adjustment. We will cross that bridge when we get there!
I am so grateful for the love and support we received from our close friends and family during this very stressful period. I couldn’t have survived it with out them.
Stay tuned for a post highlighting tips on moving with a toddler! I want this transition to be as easy as possible for my little man. Do you tips of your own you’d like to share with us? Comment on this post!
Let’s embrace family and especially our children as we recognize the Easter holiday that is upon us. I hope you all have a beautiful long weekend!
I finally made the leap. I’ve been sitting on this blog for almost a year! Since purchasing the original domain, I’ve been through so much. All the while, I kept thinking I should really be writing about this. So here it is!
My number one goal in life is to provide the best possible childhood for my baby boy, Chael. I will spend every ounce of my energy thinking up new and exciting adventures for us to see and do. Most of them, as close friends and family know, get a one off facebook or insta post to highlight a special moment. My hope for this platform is to expand on those little moments that end up meaning so much to me and Chael. I receive a lot of questions about the places we go or what I’m wearing or how do I cope with raising a toddler alone (most of the time) while working.
I’m not perfect by any means, nor do I try to push my ideas or ways on anyone else. I just do what works for us and I tell all my mama friends the same- you do, you mama bird! I love when we can come together and share tips and tricks. It’s the only way we all (including the kiddos) can survive this crazy adventure we call life. So when you are reading my posts, please bear this in mind. I want this to be a fun forum for everyone!
I am excited to welcome you guys into our lives. Although some of it may not be pretty, I hope you at least get a chuckle out of it or learn something new.
Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for my next post which will be more fun. I promise
